Understand food labels and the importance

The list of foods that is due to require designation date


• Biscuits, bread.

• food periodic for infants and children.

• cereal-based foods for infants and young children.

• Chocolate, white chocolate and milk chocolate.

• coconut cream, coconut milk, coconut paste, coconut cream powder and grated coconut.

Packaged food products for sale must have a label.

• Provide information about the content of food products.

• Mark food consumption information.

• Facilitate the enforcement and litigation.

Be careful!

• Buy packaged food products that are labeled.

• Pay attention to the ingredients contained in a food product.

• Make sure the food is not beyond the date of expiry.

• Read carefully and follow the way of food storage.

• Understand how to prepare food.

• Look for nutritional information on the label.

• Avoid buying food with damaged packaging. (Dents, rust or blister).


Evidence on the food label.

• Name mention food truthfully. Food must be labeled with the name of clear, accurate and not misleading.

• discussion of the use. Local products are labeled in Malaysia criticism. Imported products are labeled in Bahasa Malaysia or English.

• The ingredient list. Ingredient used in products that are arranged by weight decreased.
