Healthy dieting and weight loss tip @1: Avoid common pitfalls


Diets, especially fad diets or "quick-fix" pills and plans, often set up to fail because:


  • Feel deprived. Diets that cut out entire food groups such as carbohydrates or fat, are simply impractical, not to mention unhealthy. The key is moderation. Eliminating entire food groups is not a healthy diet and make it possible to create imbalanced diet.



  • You will lose weight, but keep it off. Diets that severely restrict calories to cut certain foods, or rely on ready-made meals might work in the short term. However, if your goals of weight loss, you do not have a plan to maintain your weight and the pounds quickly come back.



  • After the diet, you seem to put on weight faster. If you drastically reduce your food intake, your metabolism slows down temporarily. Once you start eating normally, you will gain weight until your metabolism bounces a reason why starvation or "fasting" diets are counterproductive.



  • You break your diet and feel too discouraged to try again. Just because you gave the temptation, all the hard work go down the drain. Healthy eating is about the big picture. An occasional splurge will not kill your efforts. Too strict a diet is helpful to cheat if you feel concerned, it is easy to fall off the wagon.



  • You lose money faster than you lose weight. Special shakes, meals and programs can be prohibitive and less practical for long-term weight loss and maintenance of healthy weight.



  • They feel isolated and unable to enjoy social situations around food. Without a healthy diet strategy practice, you may feel lost when dining out or attending events like cocktail parties or weddings. If the food served is not made for your specific diet plan, what can you do?



  • Business people lose 30 pounds. in 2 months and you have not. Diet companies make a lot of big promises. Most are just not realistic. Unfortunately, weight loss is not easy, and anyone who makes it seem that so you have to hurt. Not discouraged by unrealistic goals!
